We’re so excited to share that we recently won two Web Excellence awards! Web Excellence Awards is a leading international interactive web awards competition, that highlights the “best of the best” in web design, development, and digital marketing.

The 7th Web Excellence Awards competition saw over 950 entries from 37 countries worldwide, including 42 US States and other countries such as Australia, Canada, the UK, Israel, New Zealand, Poland, India, Turkey, and Germany.

The Web Excellence Awards winners are selected by marketing gurus, advertisers, communications specialists, and web experts. These experts base their evaluation on the innovation, creativity, implementation, and impact of all the projects submitted.

Here’s the scoop …

Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay

The first award was for our redesign of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay‘s website, in the “Website — Environmental Awareness” category.

The Alliance is a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring local action and forging partnerships to protect the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. The organization works with individuals, businesses, and governments to increase environmental awareness and restore local lands, streams, and rivers. Since 1971, they’ve brought together communities, companies, and conservationists to improve the land and water.

We began working with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay in 2015, designing, improving, and developing multiple sites, with the goal of leveraging these digital resources in order to empower the Alliance to fulfill their important environmental mission.

Since then, we’ve also designed and developed additional program websites for the Alliance, including the Chesapeake Network. The Chesapeake Network is a community-powered website that allows organizations and individuals dedicated to protecting the Chesapeake Bay Watershed to share events, job openings, development ideas, announcements, and resources.

National Gaucher Foundation

The second award was for our digital marketing campaigns with the National Gaucher Foundation (NGF), in the “Social Media — Health & Wellness” category.

NGF is an independent nonprofit dedicated to serving U.S. patients with Gaucher disease and their families. Through financial support, educational programming, patient services, and collaboration with medical professionals, NGF empowers Gaucher patients to live a better today.

Since 1984, NGF has helped develop treatments and a cure for Gaucher disease. They believe that patients should have more information and support in understanding the disease and finding new ways to treat it.

Over the last few years, we have worked closely with NGF maintaining their website. More recently, the opportunity arose to support NGF’s digital marketing across three social media platforms and email marketing campaigns.

After optimizing NGF’s Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Mailchimp accounts, we developed and implemented a content calendar featuring better-branded, informational content. As a result, NGF has seen a tangible increase in organic engagement, likes/follows, and new email subscribers.

BONUS: Cate School

In May, we won a Web Excellence award for Cate School‘s website redesign, in the “Website — School / University” category.

Cate School had a website that was slow, extremely challenging to navigate, and that had limited functionality. We rebuilt the site from the ground up creating a user-friendly and mobile responsive experience. Simultaneously, we elevated the look and feel of the revised site with a cutting-edge rebrand.

We put Cate School‘s captivating photography and unique value proposition in the spotlight, appealing to both prospective students and parents. The newly restructured backend enabled Cate School‘s team to flexibly update the website, even without extensive technical training.
